I see that there aren't any reviews here for this product so I get the honor of writing the first one! That being said, Peter Pauper Press has impressed me with another set of stationery, this time their "Watercolor Birds" variety. I enjoyed their Blue Flowers set very much and burned through that quickly, writing to family and friends, but this time I wanted something a bit simpler. This stationery fits the bill, with a single thread of a green branch, leaves, and two colorful birds decorating the very bottom of the white paper. Consequently there is more room for writing on the paper itself (compared to the Blue Flowers set) and it offers a more casual feel to the correspondence. The lime-green envelopes are nice companions to the paper. Like the other Peter Pauper Press stationery I've used, the paper itself is a good weight and appropriate size, and it all is of very high quality--true stationery in this age of decorated computer print-outs! It is hard to find boxed stationery any more. This was a gift for my granddaughter who is one of the few teenagers who still sends handwritten letters. She loves it, and I enjoy getting her letters.
Purchased to give my granddaughter for summmer camp but I found a set I liked better for her. It's a nice set and I kept it but haven't used it yet.
Beautiful design on good quality paper. Made in the USA. Great value. My new favorite brand.
Beautiful paper, lovely envelopes. The only way to improve this would be to provide a lid for the box. You just have the plastic covering encasing the bottom and the papers. Once you open it, there's no way to "close" it.
I can write on both sides ofvthepaper with my fountain pen (tested with waterman's ink and Esterbrook pens). The paper is fun to write on, and the design is simple and endearing. I love this set.
My Grandma enjoys receiving letters, I don't always enjoy writing them. Email is so much easier. But you do what you must to please the people you love so I write letters to her. To make it more enjoyable I buy beautiful stationary, that's where this paper comes in. I bought it to write letters just for her. And it is perfect for doing just that. Perfect thickness, pretty design and beautiful colors. I love the green envelopes. It's not such a chore putting pen to paper when you have something so lovely to write on.
The paper is a bit smaller than I expected -- each sheet is only 5.75" x 7.75". Having said that, the paper surprisingly works very well with my fountain pens and there is no bleed through with the Sailor Souten or Diamine inks that I tried. It's of decent thickness and quality, and bright white. (Just really small -- I probably should have read the size dimensions better.) I also love the green envelopes that it comes with, although the envelopes are little hard to write on as compared to the paper.
It would be nice if the set also came with sticker seals for the envelopes, but that is just a wishlist item!
